Someone's been eating MY porridge!
Last week, the children really enjoyed reading the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
As the week drew on, there were lots of learning opportunities surrounding the story:
Some children made and tasted porridge - we even had to leave it to cool just like the three bears did! After they'd tasted it, we made a pictogram of how many children liked the porridge and how many didn't. We worked out that most children enjoyed it!
The children also re-told the story of Goldilocks and together we drew the story on a story map. I was so impressed with how well the children recalled the story from start to finish.
"Someone's been sitting in MY chair," growled Daddy Bear.
The boys and girls also loved acting out the story of Goldilocks; they were superb and needless to say, there are a lot of budding actors in nursery!
Finally, we found lots of maths opportunities with the language of size. The children enjoyed sorting out pictures of Goldilocks, the bears, the porridge and the cottage. They were fabulous at using the words small, medium and large.
